StorePort is a marketplace for storage across Australia. The documents below explain rights, privacy, and safety in general terms.

Privacy Policy

How we handle personal information

Framework
Privacy Act 1988 · APPs

1. Who we are

StorePort operates the marketplace website and related services. “We”, “us”, and “our” refer to that operator. You can contact us through the contact form, at storeportb@gmail.com, or other details we publish in the product when available.

2. What we collect

We may collect:

  • Identity and contact: name, email, phone, profile details you choose to add, and account IDs from our authentication provider.
  • Listing and booking data: descriptions, locations (suburb/postcode/coordinates), dates, messages, reviews, and payment-related references (e.g. Stripe identifiers). We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers when payments are handled by Stripe.
  • Technical data: IP address, device/browser type, logs, and cookies necessary for security, session management, or analytics (as configured).
  • Photos: images you upload for listings or link in reviews.

3. Why we collect and use it

We use personal information to:

  • Provide, secure, and improve the platform;
  • Facilitate bookings, messaging, reviews, and payments;
  • Comply with law, respond to lawful requests, and enforce our terms;
  • Send service-related notices and, where permitted, marketing you can opt out of.

4. Disclosure

We may share information with:

  • Other users as needed to operate the marketplace (e.g. host and renter contact in relation to a booking; public listing pages; reviews you submit).
  • Service providers that host or process data on our behalf, including:
    • Supabase (database, authentication, file storage where configured);
    • Stripe (payments, Connect payouts);
    • Vercel or other hosting providers for the web application;
    • Mapping or analytics vendors if you enable or we configure them (e.g. map tiles).
    These providers may store or process data in Australia or overseas as described in their own privacy policies.
  • Authorities where required or permitted by law.

5. Overseas transfers

APP 8 requires reasonable steps to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information in line with the APPs unless an exception applies. By using services that rely on global infrastructure (e.g. Stripe, Supabase regions, Vercel), you acknowledge information may be processed outside Australia subject to those providers’ safeguards and contracts.

6. Security

We use industry-standard measures appropriate to a small marketplace (encryption in transit, access controls, dependency updates). No system is perfectly secure; report suspected breaches to us promptly.

7. Retention

We retain data while your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, and dispute purposes, then delete or de-identify where reasonable. Some records (e.g. payment artefacts, moderation logs) may need longer retention.

8. Access, correction, and complaints

Under the APPs you may request access to personal information we hold about you and seek correction of errors. Contact us through product support details. If we cannot resolve a privacy concern, you may complain to the OAIC. General consumer matters (not always privacy-specific) can sometimes be directed to the ACCC or the fair trading or consumer protection agency in your state or territory.

9. Children

The service is not directed at people under 16. Do not register or supply children’s personal information through the platform.

10. Updates

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date will change. Significant changes should be communicated in the product where practicable.
